Here are a number of sketches that I did in 2018 whilst staying at the Domine de Fumel near Issigeac, a delightful little town in the Dordogne. I found the buildings interesting and sketched them all from many different positions. I also drew a number of times over, an ash tree that was half strangled by ivy. It was scheduled for felling so I'm particularly pleased that I managed to draw it before its demise. I was also fascinated by the textures and tones of a barn that was gradually falling down and that too I drew on a number of occasions.
