Having walked to this spot from nearby Legrasse I stopped to sketch this scene. First of all my eye was caught by the skeletal bell cage on the bell tower peeping above the other buildings and my eye was then captured by the rough stone textures of the bridges paving and parapets. To reflect the textures of the stonework I used a small amount of wax resist, some scratching out and drawing in some stones and joints using watercolour and a steel pen nib.
