I sketched this scene of part of the Pre Alpes during a stop for lunch. I was particularly drawn to the snow on the tops of the mountains and wanted to express the tumbling rocks in the foreground. I decided to keep the picture as one of the mountain devoid of people and added foreground interest. I wanted to dwell upon the colour of the rocks and enjoyed the complementary colour of the sky.
