When painting this highish toned picture I concentrated on the mountains and painted in the buildings, including the chimney pots, in a negative format with only the windows loosely defined. By dealing with the subject this way I feel that I have managed to minimise the scene and keep it exceedingly simple but at the same time retain interest in the subject.
