It was the group of buildings with their chimney pots and roofs that first caught my eye in this scene as they marched down the hillside. My eye was also caught by the string of posts that crossed the site as well as the somewhat stunted trees. I decided to paint this scene emphasising these features as they fitted into the rugged moorland landscape.
