For some ten years I lived by the side of the Thames and enjoyed sketching the shipping as it passed. I paticularly enjoyed watching tugs pulling their string of barges to the landfill site down stream. I found this delightful Tug in a 10 year old sketchbook and was moved to paint this scene. I rather regret that I was not living there when in the 1960s ships going up and down the river were like London Buses queueing up.
